My timesheet two ways: Calendar and Sheet view

In an effort to offer multiple ways to easily manage, view, and log time across all projects and tasks, we’re thrilled to share that you now have two ways to view your timesheet. Calendar view and Sheet view will both provide customizable, flexible, and efficient time logging experiences to better match how you choose to log your time.

Calendar view

A standardized and familiar calendar-style timesheet was a no-brainer for the new view of My timesheet. Acting as the conclusionary place where you log your time at the end of the day or week, the Calendar view naturally helps you spot and fill gaps in your week with ease thanks to the logical calendar setup.

Whether you prefer a week or day format, populate the Calendar view by using “View tasks” in the top right corner to drag and drop tasks onto your timesheet. Additionally, simply click into the calendar on the desired date and time, and the time log modal will open to input extra details. Shorten, extend, or move these calendar blocks to adjust the time logs without needing to click and manually edit.

The Calendar view also offers a more visual and skimmable approach to time logging with handy color coding and summary totals along the bottom outlining the split of your time. Dark blue indicates the time log is billable, light blue means the time log is non-billable, and pink represents time logs that have been billed. Lastly, keep track of how your daily capacity is stacking up compared to your available hours all in one spot.

Sheet view

The existing version of My timesheet will now be referred to as “Sheet view”. Not only does it have a fancy new label, but it will be empty by default so you can build your timesheet a la carte to be an exact match of what you worked on. Instead of listing all the possibilities of what could’ve been worked on, we’ve cut this exhaustive list so you’re in control and only add the tasks that you actually put time against.

Populating Sheet view can be done in a number of ways:

  • Copy last week - Now with a single click, you can copy tasks from the previous week. Perfect for small jobs that repeat week over week, or if a big piece of work carries on for the long haul.

  • View tasks - Click “View tasks” and simply drag and drop existing tasks from this new side menu to easily build up your week. Filter and search this list to pinpoint exact tasks with ease.

  • Add project or task - We all know ad-hoc things come up, so you can also manually choose to add projects or tasks on the fly.

  • Show tasks assigned to me - Prefer the old way? No sweat! Click the three dots in the top right corner to open up settings and have your timesheet populate with tasks assigned to you.

Now with complete control over what you see on your timesheet, Sheet view removes the clutter and introduces a simplified time logging experience.

And there you have it! My timesheet two ways—Calendar view and Sheet view. Log time in a snap, spot gaps in your week, increase billable minutes, and get on with your day. Which way will you choose?
